For over 25 years I worked as a lawyer in the UK, acting for some of the most demanding clients in the country. They kept coming back for my services.

During my time in the law, I worked alongside and learned from many talented people. I also helped develop the careers of junior colleagues. I built up my skills working in a variety of quality law firms of differing sizes. I also set up and ran my own successful law firm for part of my career.

One of the things I learned was the importance of effective communication. My line of work was littered with technical jargon and complexity and the aim of my writing was to present it both accurately and in a readable format. In doing so, my work stood out from many of my competitors'.
